## Description

The Tom Harpstreith Memorial Youth Hunt is an annual community event established in 2011 by the Harpstreith family and friends to honor Tom’s commitment to passing waterfowl hunting and shooting sports on to younger generations. Open to youth ages 8–17, the hunt offers participants an opportunity to take part in a traditional waterfowl hunt. The 2027 event is scheduled for January 31, with registration encouraged early because land sales and drought have reduced the number of available hunting pits and participant places.

The hunt is free for participants, thanks to donated pits from Goshen County landowners and volunteer local guides. Donations help provide breakfast and lunch for hunters and their families, shotgun shells, gift bags, and raffle prizes. Individuals and businesses can contribute by check or PayPal, or donate products for gift bags and raffles. The event is supported by WyoBraska Waterfowl guests, Tom’s friends, and local businesses, alongside sponsors including Ducks Unlimited, Delta Waterfowl, Benelli USA, and other hunting-related organizations and brands.
