## Description

Tongariro Ski Club is a family-friendly ski club on Mt Ruapehu, welcoming members since 1932. What began as a small hut has grown into a community of more than 300 members, with families returning across generations for skiing, comfortable accommodation and good company. The club has two lodges, giving members a place to stay on both sides of the mountain. Whakapapa Lodge is near the Top of the Bruce, with ski-in access to the Rangatira chairlift when conditions allow. Ohakune Lodge is at the Junction, close to the Tūroa side of the mountain and local restaurants and nightlife. Membership offers an affordable, sociable way to enjoy Ruapehu, with a welcoming community and the flexibility to follow the best snow. The club also runs Tongariro Juniors, an annual, relaxed race day for skiers and snowboarders under 18, open to participants of all abilities. New members are welcome, and the club provides information about joining, its lodges and membership costs.
