## Description

Top of the Poops is an independent public information project that makes sewage overflow data easier to understand. It brings together information about England, Wales and Scotland, showing where and when combined sewage overflows discharge into waterways. The site turns data from water companies and annual reports into interactive maps, rankings and visualisations, helping people explore sewage pollution near their homes and in places they care about.

Visitors can investigate live and historical overflows, compare annual figures, and browse information by river, beach, constituency, Welsh Senedd constituency, protected landscape, shellfish area or water company. The site also provides rainfall and sewage visualisations, explains what combined sewage overflows are, and highlights limitations in the available monitoring and reporting data. Its coverage includes rivers, coastal bathing locations and shellfish-producing areas, with figures and rankings intended to make local impacts more accessible.

Top of the Poops encourages public awareness and action, sharing related media and a petition concerning water industry ownership.
