## Description

Top Rung Inspection & Testing, a division of JLN Associates, LLC, provides NFPA-compliant fire equipment testing for fire departments throughout the Northeast. Founded and led by former Fire Chief John Nickerson, the company combines the experience of EVT-certified technicians and emergency responders with a practical understanding of the equipment firefighters rely on. Its services include fire hose, ground ladder, fire pump, aerial device, foam system, and compressed air foam (CAF) system inspections and testing. Hose services include equipment inspection, recording, and repacking, while ladder testing includes visual and performance checks with documentation. Pump testing evaluates apparatus performance, including testing from draft with the Top Rung Draft Commander. The company also inspects aerial devices from the ladder to the chassis and evaluates foam system operation and concentrate quality. Top Rung can perform multiple tests in one visit, aiming to reduce apparatus downtime and keep equipment in service. Its work emphasizes safety, accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, and helping departments identify maintenance needs before emergencies arise.
