## Description

The Toyota Foundation is a Japanese public-interest foundation dedicated to supporting efforts that contribute to people’s greater happiness and address social challenges in Japan and internationally. Through six open-call grant programs and a separate initiative program, it funds projects that explore how people can build meaningful connections and exchange, and how emerging technologies, including information technology, can be applied appropriately to society. Its funding areas include domestic, research, and international initiatives, as well as selected themes such as advanced technology, foreign human resources, and population decline.

The foundation also shares information about grant recipients’ activities and outcomes. Its online resources include project reports, books, papers, films, event announcements, and media coverage, with searchable records organized by year, program, and keywords. Publications such as its JOINT magazine feature stories and perspectives on community and connection. The Toyota Foundation provides application guidance and frequently asked questions, and it hosts events, seminars, and reporting sessions. Its website also offers organizational information, governance and disclosure materials, and updates on current programs and supported projects.
