## Description

Tracker Academy is a South African wildlife-tracking training school dedicated to preserving traditional knowledge while creating opportunities for disadvantaged rural people. Established in 2010, it is a training division of the SA College for Tourism, which operates under the auspices of the Peace Parks Foundation. Its programme is accredited by CATHSSETA and endorsed by FGASA, making it the first tracker training school in South Africa to achieve both distinctions.

The academy equips students with animal- and man-tracking skills for careers in conservation and tourism. Graduates have contributed to wildlife monitoring, research, anti-poaching efforts, and animal habituation projects in South Africa and elsewhere in Africa. Its Rhino Guardians initiative develops advanced man-tracking skills among anti-poaching personnel, while partnerships have supported ranger training and scientific monitoring. Tracker Academy also offers the Tracker Manual, a practical reference featuring guidance on identifying spoor from around 190 animal species, and invites supporters to contribute through donations.
