## Description

Tradidanças is a participatory festival celebrating traditions, dance, music and nature in Carvalhais, São Pedro do Sul, Portugal. Held in a forest setting around the first weekend of August and the three days before it, the event brings together professional and amateur musicians and dancers. Its programme connects the musical heritage of the Serra da Arada and São Pedro do Sul with traditions and cultural influences from elsewhere.

Organised by the local association ATASA in partnership with the Municipality of São Pedro do Sul, Tradidanças is shaped by community members who welcome and support festivalgoers. Activities take place across the forest and other local spaces, including the church, an old threshing floor and a greenhouse. The programme features dance and instrument workshops, concerts, folk music, traditional dances, conversations, nature outings, street arts and sustainable workshops. Visitors can also find local and vegetarian food, artisan and instrument-maker fairs, camping, glamping, wellbeing activities and an intergenerational play space.
