## Description

The Tree Stand Safety Awareness Foundation (TSSA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed in 2016 by outdoor industry leaders to help prevent tree stand injuries and deaths. Its mission is to significantly reduce tree stand incidents through promotion, education, and best practices, with the goal of reducing falls that result in emergency department visits. TSSA works to make the organization a national resource for tree stand safety awareness, support research, encourage dialogue among industry leaders, government officials, hunter education instructors and the public, and contribute to educational and marketing strategies for safer use.

Rather than selling products, TSSA provides safety information and educational resources for hunters who use manufactured tree stands. Its website offers guidance on inspecting equipment, wearing and securing a full-body harness, connecting to the tree before leaving the ground, and sharing a stand location. Visitors can also access articles, a video library, safety media, photo galleries, events and news.
