## Description

The Rocky Mountain Trench Ecosystem Restoration Program is a collaborative initiative that has brought together government, industry, First Nations, nonprofit organizations and the public since 1998. Its long-term goal is to restore the natural condition of low-elevation grasslands and dry Ponderosa pine and Douglas-fir forests in the East Kootenay and Columbia Valley region of British Columbia. Restoration work spans Crown land, provincial and national parks, private conservation properties and First Nations reserves, from Radium Hot Springs to the United States border.

The program supports ecosystem restoration projects and shares information about its work through project plans, news, publications, a resource library, photographs and videos. Its online Susan Bond Memorial Library provides access to relevant publications, while its website also features updates on current and upcoming projects. The initiative offers opportunities for the public to stay informed through periodic publications and subscription updates. Through its broad partnerships and practical restoration activities, the program works to support healthier natural ecosystems across the Rocky Mountain Trench.
