## Description

Trompenburg Tuinen & Arboretum is a botanical garden and registered museum in Rotterdam’s Kralingen district, near the city centre. Covering eight hectares, this historic green space has welcomed visitors as a foundation since 1958, preserving a site first landscaped around 200 years ago. Its living collection includes trees, shrubs, perennials, bulbs and tubers, with notable collections of oaks, beeches, holly and hostas. Visitors can explore traditional English-style gardens, a developing food forest, a desert greenhouse featuring cacti and succulents, and other diverse habitats valued for biodiversity and natural history.

Trompenburg offers year-round walks for individuals and families, with printed routes, guided tours and children’s activities, including trails and seasonal treasure hunts. Its programme also includes workshops, lectures and special events such as plant markets, an annuals sale and a Green Christmas Market. Guests can enjoy coffee or lunch at the garden restaurant and browse the garden shop, which carries changing garden-related items.
