## Description

Tru Thoughts is an independent record label that was founded in 1999 in Brighton, England. Initially starting as a platform for the vibrant music produced by the regular guests at their Brighton club nights, Tru Thoughts quickly gained recognition with its eclectic range of 12” and 7” singles. Their first artist album, Bonobo’s debut ‘Animal Magic’, was a massive success, garnering critical acclaim and high demand for use in advertisements and compilations. Over the years, Tru Thoughts has expanded its roster to include a diverse array of talented artists from all over the world. From the UK, they have signed acts like Nostalgia 77, Alice Russell, and TM Juke, while also embracing musicians like Lance Ferguson from Australia, New Orleans’ Hot 8 Brass Band, and Edinburgh’s Hidden Orchestra. Tru Thoughts aims to release music of all genres and styles that are interesting, creative, and of high quality. From downtempo instrumentals to heavy club tracks, reggae to folk, jazz to soul-influenced singers and songwriters, their focus is on good music regardless of genre. In addition to operating as a record label, Tru Thoughts also has a publishing company called Full Thought Publishing, which works alongside the label and represents a wide range of music beyond their own catalog. If you want to support Tru Thoughts and their artists, their official shop is the best place to purchase their music and ensure that more funds are invested in creating new music. You can also stay connected with Tru Thoughts through their social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. Feel free to reach out to them directly at info@tru-thoughts.co.uk. Tru Thoughts has remained fiercely independent, with their team handling all aspects of international music releases and publishing to movies, TV, and advertisements. They have also collaborated with notable artists such as Stevie Wonder, Aloe Blacc, Daedulus, Cut Chemist, and many more. Tru Thoughts continues to be a leading force in the music industry, showcasing exceptional talent from around the world and pushing boundaries with their diverse range of releases.
