Sierra Expeditionary Learning School (SELS) is a K-8 public charter school located in Truckee, CA. We are dedicated to inspiring a diverse group of learners to achieve academic excellence while developing a strong sense of character and community. Our curriculum is implemented through project-based expeditions and fieldwork, designed to challenge students to think critically and foster their natural curiosity and love of learning.

SELS has received multiple accolades, including being recognized as a 2023 California Distinguished School, a Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education, and an EL Education Mentor School. We are proud to be an EL Education Credentialed School, demonstrating our high implementation and excellence in the Expeditionary Learning model.
