TRUE Mentors is a not-for-profit organization based in Hoboken, New Jersey, dedicated to supporting at-risk youth in Hudson County. Our mission is to unearth the excellence within these young individuals through meaningful relationships. We believe that every child deserves a champion who is committed to their growth and well-being.

What sets TRUE Mentors apart is our focus on aligning youth with volunteers residing in their local communities. This allows for easier matches, increased engagement, and diverse offerings that are easily accessible to all parties involved. In addition to one-on-one mentoring, we also offer age-targeted activities through Enrichment Clubs and individualized educational support through the Homework Helpers program.

These programs aim to provide a nurturing environment where youth can develop essential life skills and reach their full potential. We currently work with over 70 highly underserved, at-risk youth, the majority of whom come from low-income households. Over 80% of our participants identify as youth of color, and a significant portion have documented special needs.

We rely on the generous support of our community partners, including non-profits, state, and local businesses, to continue offering our programs free of charge.
