## Description

True Russia is a humanitarian organization founded in response to the Russian aggression in Ukraine. Established by prominent cultural figures, including writer Boris Akunin, actor Mikhail Baryshnikov, and economist Sergey Guriev, True Russia unites individuals of Russian heritage who stand against the war and advocate for democracy. Led by Oleg Radzinsky, the organization is dedicated to providing support for victims of the conflict, particularly focusing on Ukrainian refugees and those fleeing political persecution in Russia. In its initial months, True Russia successfully raised over £1 million to assist Ukrainian refugees through the Disasters Emergency Committee, ensuring all funds directly benefit those in need. The organization also serves as a platform to promote various humanitarian initiatives within the Russian-speaking diaspora, offering organizational and informational support for diverse projects aimed at social, cultural, and humanitarian assistance. True Russia is committed to its mission of fostering a democratic society in Russia and providing aid until peace prevails, reflecting the values of compassion and solidarity that define its work.
