## Description

The Johannes and Cordula Trum Foundation is an educational nonprofit established in 2013 by Oberhausen entrepreneurs Johannes and Cordula Trum. Guided by the principle “A future for young people,” it aims to widen access to education and help young people develop their abilities, regardless of their background or financial circumstances. The foundation supports both vocational and academic pathways, with a focus on opportunity, initiative and responsible contribution to society.

Its academic programme provides scholarships and other targeted support to students, including those studying economics and engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen. The foundation reports having supported more than 100 students with scholarships. It also promotes learning beyond higher education: in 2025, its first Creative Award recognised Elsa-Brändström-Gymnasium for creating study niches that give pupils spaces for concentration and independent work.

The foundation invites applications through its university programme contacts and welcomes donations to extend its work. Its activities reflect the founders’ long-standing commitment to vocational training and to helping young people build fulfilling educational and professional futures.
