TrustTheVote is a member-based non-profit initiative of the OSET Institute, a Silicon Valley-based non-partisan organization focused on research and development of election technology. Their mission is to develop publicly owned election technology that improves voting system integrity, security, and verifiability, lowers costs of election administration, and increases confidence in elections and their outcomes. They are creating open-source software to enhance the election experience for citizens and governments.

The TrustTheVote Project aims to address the deteriorating state of election technology, which poses a risk to democracy. They are developing ElectOS, an innovative and secure election technology that utilizes hand-marked durable paper ballots for transparency and accuracy. They have a 4-point strategy, including engaging stakeholders, promoting open standards, fostering innovation, and emphasizing ownership of the software by the people.
