# Try Shooting Sports - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `tryshootingsports.org` ## Description Try Shooting Sports is a nationwide initiative that helps families connect with youth shooting sports teams and learn what participation involves. The project is led by MidwayUSA Foundation, with research, marketing, and evaluation support from DJ Case & Associates. Its online directory helps users search for teams by name, location, or shooting discipline, including air pistol and rifle, smallbore rifle, shotgun, blackpowder, high power rifle, and pistol. Families can also submit their interests and location to be connected with a nearby team. The initiative introduces parents and young people to programs that offer structured instruction in firearm safety and marksmanship. According to the site, teams serve participants with varying experience levels, and certified coaches provide instruction and mentorship. Many programs provide equipment for beginners and have minimal fees, though age requirements, schedules, and costs vary by team and discipline. The campaign also supplies professionally developed social media content that teams, ranges, leagues, and partner organizations can share to introduce more families to youth shooting sports and their potential benefits, including discipline, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. It is supported by a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service multistate conservation grant. ## Industries - 🏈 Sports - 🏈 Hunting and Shooting _(under Sports)_ - 🎗 Community and Society - 🎗 Philanthropy _(under Community and Society)_ ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idyuzfQSfS/w/180/h/180/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1791061134634) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Outrageous Orange | #fe6a42 | accent | | Luxor Gold | #98722b | dark | | Mona Lisa | #ffb299 | light | ## Fonts - serif — asset _(custom)_ - serif — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
