## Description

Tubbe is an initiative of the King Baudouin Foundation that helps residential care homes become more welcoming places to live and work. Its vision centers on relationship-based, safe care and aims to improve life for residents, staff, families and others involved in care. Rather than offering a fixed model or ready-made solutions, Tubbe provides a flexible approach tailored to each care home and developed step by step.

The approach is guided by six principles, including autonomy, participation, connections with family and the surrounding community, a shared vision, and relationship-focused care. These principles help care homes shape changes to their organization and everyday relationships. Tubbe draws inspiration from Tubberödshus, a care home in a rural Swedish community, and has been explored through six pilot projects.

The Tubbe website shares practical guidance, stories from participating care homes, publications and news. The initiative encourages a shift from organizational thinking toward stronger relationships and greater involvement from everyone affected.
