## Description

Turista Érmék offers collectible wooden Tourist Medals designed as keepsakes and proof of a personal visit to Hungary’s notable destinations. Round, carved and heat-branded, the numbered medals are sold exclusively at the attractions they represent, rather than through other shops. Visitors can find them at thermal baths, rivers and lakes, castles, museums, historic-city information centres, national parks, caves, zoos and other cultural or natural sites.

The collection helps travellers discover Hungary’s landscapes and attractions, with an annually updated tourist map providing a guide to medal locations. A dedicated collecting game adds a motivational element, and the website provides information about the rules, missing and anniversary medals, premium editions, a collector ranking and a mobile application. The system originated in the Czech Republic, where its first wooden discs appeared in 1997, and has since expanded to several European countries. In Hungary, medals are listed at a uniform price of 890 forints at authorised sales points. The Turista Érem name and medal design are protected.
