## Description

Turtle Time, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization established in 1989 to support the recovery and conservation of marine turtles. Permitted by the state of Florida, it monitors sea turtle activity along the coast from Fort Myers Beach to the Lee-Collier County line. Its work and public resources focus on protecting endangered and threatened sea turtles, especially during nesting season, which runs from May 1 through October 31.

The organization shares guidance on reducing light pollution, including shielding beachfront lights, using turtle-friendly amber LED bulbs, closing blinds after dark, and avoiding flashlights or fishing lanterns on the beach. Its website provides information about sea turtle species and anatomy, nesting data, conservation, and ways the public can help. Visitors can also explore blog posts, videos, and educational material, including facts about loggerhead turtles. Turtle Time publishes seasonal nest information and encourages community awareness of the risks artificial lighting poses to nesting turtles and hatchlings.
