## Description

Twelve B Green Energy Fund is a South African private infrastructure fund focused on making renewable energy investment accessible to eligible taxpayers. Launched by Grovest, a small-cap fund administrator with experience in tax-efficient investment structures, the fund channels private capital into income-generating renewable energy assets, including solar projects. Its offering is designed for individuals, trusts, companies and pension funds seeking exposure to clean energy infrastructure alongside potential tax benefits.

The fund uses Section 12B of South Africa’s Income Tax Act, which allows qualifying renewable energy investments to receive accelerated depreciation allowances. The fund states that investors may deduct up to 100% of their investment from taxable income in the first year, with a higher allowance possible when gearing is introduced. It also describes priority profits of 7% to 8% per annum, paid bi-annually, subject to the fund’s terms and risks. Twelve B provides information packs, investment guidance and updates on fund launches, projects and tax-efficient investing.
