About

Description

Twinrocker Handmade Paper, established in 1971 by Kathryn and Howard Clark, played a pivotal role in the resurgence of hand papermaking in America. With their background in Fine Art and Mechanical Engineering, they reimagined the ancient craft with a fresh perspective, creating handmade papers using the finest cotton rag, much like those made in Europe centuries ago. The dedicated team of skilled craftsmen at Twinrocker uphold the highest standards of quality, ensuring their papers are not only beautiful but also perform exceptionally.

Aesthetically innovative, Twinrocker was the first to introduce a wide variety of sizes and shapes, including circular and square sheets. Whether it's 2 x 3 invitation cards or 34 x 48 art papers, they have a range to cater to diverse needs. The thickness of their papers varies from lightweight text to sturdy board weight.

For those seeking a rough surface texture, Twinrocker air dries their sheets in their drying loft, mirroring the traditional method from centuries ago. However, they also offer a smooth Cold Pressed surface and an ultra-smooth Hot Pressed surface to meet the demands of the modern world. Their colored papers are tinted with light fast pigments, ensuring longevity and archival quality.

Except for the ones marked as Printmaking or Letterpress, all Twinrocker papers are suitable for a wide range of media, including water-based materials like pen and ink. Watercolor paper receives an additional tub sizing of gelatine to enhance its performance. What sets Twinrocker apart is that their handmade papers have four authentically natural deckled edges, something machine-made papers can only imitate.

Twinrocker's distinctiveness extends to their decorative, exaggerated Feather deckle, recognized worldwide as unique to the brand. For those interested in purchasing stocked or custom papers, inquiries can be made to owner Travis Becker. Twinrocker understands that choosing the right thickness of paper can be confusing.

Therefore, they provide a letter code system that refers to the weight in pounds and grams, as well as the thickness in inches. When it comes to surface texture, Twinrocker offers three options: Coldpressed, Hotpressed, and Rough. However, they also provide a Both option, where one side of the sheet is Hotpressed and the other is Coldpressed, which can be found in their online ordering section.

With Twinrocker Handmade Paper, you can be assured of receiving meticulously crafted papers that combine age-old techniques with innovative design, allowing you to bring your artistic vision to life
