Two Rivers Child Advocacy Center (CAC) is dedicated to providing a timely and coordinated response to child sexual and physical abuse in southernmost Illinois. Our mission is to ensure that children victimized by abuse receive the community support they need. At Two Rivers CAC, we offer specialized services in a child-friendly setting to help victims of child abuse heal and recover.

Our services include Forensic Interviews conducted by specially trained professionals using a child developmentally informed, research-based model. These interviews are observed live by members of our Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and recorded on DVDs. We also provide Forensic Exams in a child-friendly exam room, performed by practitioners from the Children's Medical and Mental Health Resource Network (CMMHRN).

To support the child and non-offending family members, an advocate is assigned to each child. They assist in understanding and navigating the court process and connect them with other community services such as counseling, social services, and Crime Victims Compensation. Our MDT approach brings together professionals from various fields, including the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services, Law Enforcement, State's Attorney's Offices, Medical Personnel, Mental Health Counselors, and our dedicated CAC staff.

This collaborative approach aims to reduce trauma to child victims through information sharing, coordinated investigations, and holding offenders accountable.
