## Description

TypeCon is an esteemed annual conference dedicated to the world of typography, organized by the non-profit Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA). Since its inception in 1998, TypeCon has become a key event for design professionals, educators, students, and typography enthusiasts, fostering a vibrant community passionate about type. Each year, the conference explores a wide array of topics, ranging from the latest typography trends and experimental designs to the history of printing and calligraphy across cultures.

Attendees enjoy workshops, speaker sessions, and unique events such as the Type & Design Education Forum and walking type tours, aimed at enhancing understanding and appreciation of typographic arts. TypeCon also prioritizes inclusivity and a harassment-free environment through a Community Code of Conduct. By offering affordable entry for diverse participants, including student discounts, TypeCon ensures that everyone can engage with the rich world of typography. For a dynamic experience that celebrates typographic excellence, TypeCon remains a must-visit gathering for those in the design community. Join us in Portland, Oregon, from July 24–27, 2024!
