## Description

The University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore (UAS-B) is a public agricultural university established in 1963 as Karnataka’s first State Agricultural University. Based in Bengaluru, it advances agricultural education, research and outreach, with a focus on developing knowledge and technologies that support farmers and food production. Its academic institutions include the College of Agriculture at GKVK, the College of Sericulture in Chintamani, the College of Agricultural Engineering at GKVK, the Institute of Agri-Business Management and the Institute of Baking Technology and Value Addition.

UAS-B offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, as well as diploma, certificate and other non-degree courses. The university supports learning through admissions guidance, student welfare services, hostel and medical facilities, libraries and digital learning resources. Its research network includes agricultural research stations, projects and specialist centres, and it shares research outputs, crop varieties and agricultural technologies. Through extension programmes, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, farmer services, seed health testing and events such as Krishi Mela, UAS-B connects research with agricultural practice.
