## Description

The American Geographical Society (AGS) is an organization dedicated to geography and its relevance to people, places, and global issues. Its name, UBIQUE—Latin for “everywhere”—reflects the Society’s longstanding connection to geography and its reach across the country and around the world. Through its website and publications, AGS shares geographic knowledge with a broad audience, including students, educators, researchers, and anyone curious about the world.

Its offerings include The AGS Globe, a weekly newsletter featuring perspectives on topics such as energy inequality, climate change, and landscapes. Map of the Week highlights maps and the stories they reveal, from individual trees in New York City to environmental conditions and historical explorations. The Society also publishes Society News, interviews, spotlights, and content through initiatives such as TeenMaptivists, I Am Geography, ElseWHERE, and Geography2050. Its Geographical Review section features article previews and mini-vlogs. Together, these resources present geography as a way to understand current events, scientific findings, cultures, and the relationships between people and their environments.
