About
Description
The Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault (UCASA) is an organization dedicated to ending sexual violence and promoting awareness, education, prevention, and response in Utah. Founded in 1996 as the Coalition of Advocates for Utah Survivors' Empowerment (CAUSE), UCASA has since evolved to become a leading force in the fight against sexual assault. UCASA offers a range of programs and services aimed at supporting survivors, raising awareness, and advocating for systemic change.
These include prevention training, a coordinated community response, a forensic nursing program, and the annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) campaign. They also provide resources and support for student survivors, including information on medical-forensic exams and a 24-hour sexual violence crisis line. In addition to their survivor-focused initiatives, UCASA is committed to engaging individuals and organizations in local and statewide collaborations to strengthen the effectiveness of sexual violence education, prevention, and response in Utah.
Their ultimate vision is to create a society where sexual violence is not tolerated. UCASA is a 501(c)(3) organization and works closely with another organization called Utahns Care About Sexual Assault, which focuses on political advocacy and legislative efforts. Together, they strive to make a difference and create lasting change in Utah's response to sexual assault
