## Description

Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a Ugandan electricity distribution company formed in 2001 following the restructuring of the Uganda Electricity Board under the Electricity Act of 1999. Its mandate is to own the country’s electricity distribution networks operating below 33 kV. Through service territories across Uganda, UEDCL supports the delivery and distribution of electricity to customers and provides information about connections, tariffs, planned shutdowns, emergency outages, and service restoration.

Customers can use UEDCL’s online services for customer applications and access digital wireman information, while the company also provides customer support through its offices, telephone lines, and website. Its public resources include guides, reports, safety information, and updates on projects and network services. UEDCL operates a pole plant in Lugogo, where it produces and treats electricity distribution poles. The company also shares outage alerts, news, and service notices to help customers stay informed. Based in Kampala, UEDCL works with stakeholders and partners to manage distribution infrastructure and address customer concerns across its service areas.
