## Description

Uhuru Quilters Guild, Inc. Their mission is to preserve the traditions, culture, and history of quilting while celebrating the accomplishments of these talented individuals. They achieve this through a range of services and offerings. Uhuru hosts workshops and exhibits, allowing quilters to share their knowledge and inspire others. The guild, established in 1994, has a rich history and was formed as a result of an invitation to create a chapter in the Washington, DC area. The founding members were passionate individuals who joined forces to create a platform for African American quilters to exhibit and advance their craft. Headed by a dedicated leadership council, Uhuru offers various committees, including Block of the Month, Challenges, and Education/Workshops, each contributing to the guild's success. For more information or any inquiries, they can be easily reached through their website.
