## Description

The International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA), established in 1932, serves as the world's principal organization for climbing enthusiasts, uniting 94 member associations across 72 countries. Through the dedication of over 250 volunteers, the UIAA promotes safe and ethical climbing practices, advocates for responsible access to climbing areas, and emphasizes environmental protection. The federation is recognized by the International Olympic Committee and plays an integral role in supporting youth participation in climbing sports and aligning with Olympic values.

UIAA’s comprehensive offerings include certification for climbing equipment through its Safety Label program, resources for accident reporting, and initiatives focusing on mountain protection and climate change. With various commissions specializing in areas such as anti-doping, medical training, and youth development, the UIAA is committed to preserving the rich traditions and spirit of mountaineering. Their mission is clear: to benefit the global climbing community and protect the fragile ecosystems that surround the world’s mountains, ensuring they endure for future generations.
