## Description

Universitets-Jubilæets danske Samfund (UJDS) is a Danish scholarly publishing society dedicated to research and publications on the Danish language, literature and culture. Founded in 1879 to strengthen and coordinate scholarly work on Danish, the society has published more than 500 works over its history. Its catalogue includes dictionaries and dialect glossaries, vocabularies, scholarly studies, literary editions from the Middle Ages through the eighteenth century, folk ballad and saga editions, and research on Danish dialects and rural culture. UJDS also publishes Danske Studier, its annual journal, alongside the UJDS-studier series and accounts of the society’s work. Manuscripts are reviewed by one to three scholars before acceptance, reflecting the society’s longstanding commitment to academic scrutiny. Membership is open to individuals and institutions in Denmark and abroad. Members receive Danske Studier with their annual fee, access to discounted or complimentary new publications, and the opportunity to buy older books at reduced prices. UJDS is supported by membership fees, book sales, and private and public grants.
