## Description

UK Genealogy Archives is a dedicated platform that has been serving genealogy enthusiasts since 1998. Originally launched as a personal family history site, it has evolved into a comprehensive resource for rare books and documents related to UK genealogy. The founder, Nigel Batty-Smith, remains committed to providing free access to these valuable materials, ensuring researchers can delve into history without financial constraints.

The archives feature an extensive collection that includes seminal works like "The Comprehensive Gazetteer of England & Wales," along with resources for Scotland and Ireland. Users can explore detailed transcriptions and images of original documents. In response to growing demand, the site now offers products such as CD-ROMs while simultaneously working to digitize the bulk of their collection into indexed databases. By integrating a custom content management system, UK Genealogy Archives enhances user experiences with timely updates and access to a wealth of genealogy resources. The ultimate goal is to become a leading online destination for genealogy research in the UK.
