## Description

Ultimate Air Dogs (UAD) is a dock-jumping organization founded in 2005 by former Detroit Tigers pitcher Milt Wilcox and his son Brian. Built on a grassroots approach and a welcoming, family-oriented philosophy, UAD encourages dogs of every breed, mix, and size to take part, provided they can swim. The sport is designed to be accessible: handlers may assist dogs on the dock, and competitors can earn recognition without making the longest jumps.

UAD events offer open dock time for practice, and volunteer crew members often provide free help to dogs learning the activity. The organization created Divisional Finals, where the top five dogs in each division compete in a Grand Finale. UAD also partners with Purina to bring participants to the nationally televised Purina Incredible Dog Challenge. Its events entertain large crowds at venues and gatherings including the National Cherry Festival, Fred Hall Shows, Dominion Riverrock, and selected NASCAR races. Wilcox serves as president and main announcer, bringing his lively emceeing to events that celebrate dogs and their handlers.
