United Nations Association of Fiji

The United Nations Association of Fiji (UNA Fiji) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to enhancing the relationship between Fijians and the United Nations. Our mission is to promote and uphold the principles and values of global citizenship education, transforming active Fijian citizens into global citizens. As the leading policy voice on multilateralism in Fiji, our work is guided by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the UN.

We organize programs and activities that celebrate diversity, foster empathy-based learning, and provide solution-seeking opportunities to address shared challenges with a human rights-based approach. Through these initiatives, we aim to equip participants with relevant knowledge and skills in diplomacy, international relations, and critical thinking. At UNA Fiji, our area of focus includes issues affecting Fijians and Pacific Islanders, such as climate change, nuclear testing, decolonization, self-determination, and diaspora rights.

We also collaborate with local communities and organizations on community impact projects, promoting active Fijian citizenship through volunteerism and social responsibility.
