# Unfound

- **Primary alias:** `unfound.media`

## Description

Unfound.media is a video discovery and indexing platform focused on overlooked YouTube uploads. Many videos on YouTube have generic camera-generated filenames, such as MOV0123.MOV or VID00321.3GP, little to no description, and very few views. Unfound.media uses machine learning to classify these videos with simple tags, making them easier to browse and discover. Rather than tailoring recommendations through algorithms, the site encourages serendipitous exploration through features such as random video selection, title search, and browsing by labels, emojis, moods, or movie titles. Its listings bring together video titles, upload channels, dates, and tags, helping visitors navigate a broad mix of recordings and subjects. Users can also share striking, unusual, or interesting finds with the Unfound Videos community on the r/unfoundvideos subreddit. The platform’s purpose is to surface moments people wanted to capture but that might otherwise remain buried among millions of uploads, offering a straightforward way to encounter unexpected footage from across YouTube.
