The University of Lagos Alumni Association is an organization that was established in 1969, four years after the University itself was founded in 1962. The concept of the Alumni Association was developed to foster a sense of unity among the generations of graduates from the University. With the aim of actively influencing the University's activities, the Association serves as a platform to reflect the opinions and perspectives of its members.

Since its inception, the Alumni Association has made significant progress in managing and administrating various initiatives. It has taken over the publication of the UNILAG ALUMNI magazine and THE GRADUATE newsletter. Additionally, the Association has secured a permanent seat on the University's Governing Council.

The Association is committed to promoting interaction among its members and national discourse. It organizes several programs such as the Alumni Reunion, Annual Lecture series, and Distinguished Alumni Award Ceremony. Furthermore, the Association recognizes the importance of supporting the physical development of the University.

It has undertaken projects such as the building of the Post Graduate Hall of residence, with generous donations from distinguished alumni. The University of Lagos Alumni Association continues to create opportunities for networking, collaboration, and the advancement of the University's goals
