## Description

Unison Treatment Homes for Youth Inc. provides out-of-home foster care for children and adolescents in Windsor-Essex, Ontario, and has served the community since 2000. Its foster homes offer safe, nurturing places to live for young people, including those with significant emotional, behavioural or medical needs. With no more than four youth in each home, Unison aims to provide individualized, goal-focused care and attention.

The organization works with Children’s Aid Societies and connects youth with a broad network of community supports. Depending on individual needs, these may include child and family services workers, child and youth workers, doctors, dentists, psychiatrists, teachers, therapists, addiction counsellors and other professionals. Unison also supports youth aged 16 to 18 through its VYSA services, with individualized care, life-skills support and connections to community resources.

For prospective foster parents, Unison offers opportunities to make a difference in a young person’s life, along with a stipend, support from a professional team and professional development. The organization also recruits casual support staff and provides a directory of local services.
