The Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) is the dedicated union representing Flight Attendants across various airlines. Established for over 75 years, AFA’s mission is to advocate for the rights and welfare of nearly 50,000 Flight Attendants, making them a vital part of the expansive 700,000-member Communications Workers of America (CWA) union. AFA empowers Flight Attendants by negotiating the industry's finest contracts, focusing on improving pay, benefits, and working conditions while ensuring safety on the job.

AFA operates through a democratic structure, led by Flight Attendants who are elected by their peers. Local councils represent Flight Attendants at specific domiciles, which collectively form Master Executive Councils (MEC) for airline-wide representation. AFA also collaborates globally with fellow Flight Attendant unions through the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) to share strategies and strengthen collective bargaining efforts.
