## Description

United Indian Health Services (UIHS) is a community health organization serving the Native community since 1970. Its purpose is to work with clients and the community to promote wellness through health services that reflect the traditional values of the American Indian community. UIHS offers medical, dental, pharmacy, vision, behavioral health, physical therapy and telehealth services, alongside tribal public health, health promotion and disease prevention programs.

Community services include nutrition programs for WIC, families and elders; diabetes prevention and health education; elder services; transportation; prenatal and infant rehabilitation; and youth programs. UIHS also supports initiatives addressing commercial tobacco use, suicide prevention and opioid response, and provides client advocates and referrals to care. Services are delivered through clinics and health villages, including locations in Arcata, Eureka, Weitchpec and other communities. Clients can use the MyChart patient portal to request appointments, message their care team, review results and records, and manage invoices. UIHS also offers community activities, events, scholarships and career opportunities.
