## Description

The University of Sidekicks Studio is a family-focused martial arts studio in College Station, offering classes for children and adults of all ages and skill levels. Its training combines physical activity with practical self-defense, coordination, reflex development, discipline, and self-control. The studio encourages individuals and families to build confidence and strength while learning together in a welcoming environment. Prospective students can try a free introductory class.

Instruction is led by Master Benjamin Mendez, a sixth-degree black belt in Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do. He began studying martial arts in 1984, earned his first-degree black belt in 1988, and started helping with classes early in his training. In 2007, he joined KickStart Kids, a values-based program that uses martial arts to support young people in becoming productive members of their schools and communities. Drawing on decades of teaching and mentoring experience, Master Mendez brings a student-centered approach to the studio. The University of Sidekicks presents martial arts as an engaging way for people to stay active, learn useful skills, and make progress together.
