## Description

"Genome: Unlocking Life's Code" is a groundbreaking collaboration between the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) and the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. This exhibit, which debuted in 2013, coincided with significant milestones in genomics history, celebrating 60 years since the discovery of the DNA double-helix and 10 years since the completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003. Following its initial showcase in Washington, D.C., the exhibit traveled to various museums and science centers across North America.

The National Museum of Natural History, known as the world's most visited natural history museum, houses extensive collections and even a frozen tissue bank for DNA preservation. The NHGRI supports research on the human genome's role in health and disease, as well as addressing the ethical, legal, and social implications of genomics. Explore their free resource library filled with educational materials, including lesson plans, videos, and interactive games, to learn more about genomics. Join us in unlocking life's genetic code!
