## Description

The Fisheries Training Programme (FTP) operates under the auspices of UNESCO, dedicated to fostering sustainable fisheries practices worldwide. With 26 years of experience, the FTP has graduated 489 fellows from 68 partner countries, emphasizing capacity development through comprehensive education. The program offers six-month training courses, short courses, and advanced studies resulting in MSc and PhD degrees, focusing on science and knowledge exchange for sustainable fisheries.

The FTP community recently celebrated the graduation of its 25th cohort, comprising 25 fellows from diverse regions, including Latin America, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. This milestone event featured a poster exhibition showcasing the fellows' final research projects, providing a platform for innovation and collaboration.

By engaging in capacity-building activities and contributing to global discussions on sustainable fisheries, FTP aims to address critical issues while promoting international cooperation, in alignment with UNESCO's mission to build peace through education and scientific advancement.
