## Description

Mehad is a French nongovernmental organization focused on health and international solidarity. Founded in 2011 by doctors from the Syrian diaspora at the start of the conflict in Syria, it works in areas affected by war and humanitarian crises, where access to healthcare is threatened or unavailable. Its mission is to help vulnerable communities obtain quality medical care while strengthening local health systems and supporting healthcare workers.

Mehad’s programs cover primary care, chronic illnesses, mental health, nutrition, protection, professional training and research. The organization also carries out advocacy and emergency response. Its work spans Syria, Ukraine and Yemen, with additional activities in Lebanon and the West Bank. In Ukraine, for example, it supports rehabilitation and psychosocial care for veterans and people injured in the war.

People can support Mehad through donations, volunteering, workplace partnerships or legacy gifts. The organization also invites supporters to sign up for updates, follow its field reports and explore opportunities to join its team.
