## Description

União Portuguesa de Aikido (UPA) is a Portuguese organization dedicated to Aikido, a martial discipline whose practice and principles are introduced through the association’s information about the art and its founder. The UPA connects practitioners through its dojos and coordinates training opportunities, events and technical activities across Portugal.

Its program includes international seminars, technical committee workshops and seasonal training gatherings. Events have taken place in Barreiro and on the island of Pico, welcoming UPA athletes and other participants interested in joining. Seminars are led by experienced instructors, including António Barbas, a 7th Dan in the Eurasia Aikido Organization, and Helder d’Almeida, a 5th Dan in Eurasia; the association has also hosted an international seminar with Sensei Nebi. The UPA shares event announcements and dates through its calendar and news updates, and provides information about dojo locations, addresses, maps and contacts to help practitioners find a place to train. Its activities bring together local and visiting Aikido practitioners for instruction and shared practice, while its links with the Eurasia Aikido Organization reflect an international dimension to its work.
