## Description

Union Pongiste Creusot Varennes (UPCV) is a table tennis club based in Le Creusot, France. Founded in 1993 through the merger of Club Pongiste Creusotin and Club Olympique Varennois, it has become a leading club in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. In the 2025–2026 season, UPCV reports 176 members, including players competing at national, regional and departmental levels, both individually and in teams, as well as recreational participants. The club fields 11 teams and is supported by around 50 volunteers, who help deliver major sporting events hosted regularly by UPCV. Its coaching staff includes two full-time, salaried professional trainers with qualifications. The club also offers training and activities connected with disability sport and adapted sport, and provides information about membership, registration and practice sessions. UPCV says it has held 10 of the French Table Tennis Federation’s 12 label distinctions for more than five years. Based at the Jean Macé sports complex, the club welcomes people interested in discovering or practising table tennis and organizes team competitions and open events.
