Welcome to UPHS - Union Pacific Historical Society! Founded in 1984, UPHS is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of the Union Pacific Railroad. With approximately 1,900 members, including historians, railfans, employees, and modelers, UPHS serves as a reliable source of accurate and comprehensive information on various aspects of the Union Pacific and its predecessor companies. UPHS offers a range of publications, including The Streamliner, a professionally produced quarterly journal featuring in-depth work from historians and experts. They also publish books that delve into Union Pacific's rich history of operations, motive power, rolling stock, and more. Notably, their latest book Union Pacific Northwest by Jeff Asay explores the railroad's presence in Oregon, Washington, and Northern Idaho.
