## Description

Uudenmaan Parkinson-yhdistys ry (UPY) is a regional association supporting people with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological movement disorders, as well as their family members and loved ones. Serving Uusimaa, the association has around 1,300 members and is part of the Finnish Movement Disorders Association.

UPY provides peer support through confidential conversations and opportunities to share experiences with others facing similar challenges. Its peer and family support groups help people navigate diagnosis and life with a movement disorder. Local clubs offer support, friendship and activities, helping members find new connections and meaningful ways to take part in community life.

The association also offers an active programme of physical activities, including weekly exercise sessions, courses and events. Members can find information and community through UPY’s Parkkis magazine, events calendar, image gallery, member benefits and member products. The organisation welcomes new members and encourages people seeking information or conversation to get in touch. Its website also directs visitors to further Finnish and international resources for people affected by movement disorders.
