The University of Queensland Medical Society (UQMS) is a student-led community that supports its members and enriches the UQ medical school experience. Established in 1936, UQMS aims to create diverse opportunities to inspire and develop well-rounded medical students. They promote student well-being and advocate for the best interests of their student body.

This organization enriches its wider community through philanthropic endeavors and fostering future leaders. UQMS offers membership and merchandise and is governed by a set of rules and by-laws, policies, and agreements. Their official mascot, Ashintosh Macopenjy, has a rich history dating back to 1936.

UQMS also has a rich history of advocating for the interests of medical students, establishing the Australian Medical Students Association in 1960, and maintaining a charitable role throughout its more than six-decade history.
