## Description

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) is Uganda’s tax and customs administration, guided by the purpose of “Developing Uganda Together.” The authority provides information and services to individuals, businesses, investors, importers, exporters, and tax agents, with a stated commitment to patriotism, integrity, and professionalism.

URA’s domestic tax services include taxpayer identification number (TIN) registration, filing returns, making payments, requesting refunds, obtaining tax clearances, and accessing tax incentives. It also supports electronic tax administration through EFRIS, including registration, invoice and receipt issuance, stock management, and related reporting. Taxpayers can seek guidance on assessments, objections, appeals, and voluntary disclosure.

For trade, URA provides customs services covering import and export procedures, valuation, warehousing, transit cargo, border facilitation, customs agents, and refunds. It also offers guidance on exporting Ugandan products and the documents, standards, and logistics involved. Other services include motor vehicle and stamp duty processes, tax education, online learning, tenders, auctions, research, and publications. Through its online portals and service offices, URA makes resources and transactions accessible to the public.
