## Description

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) program, jointly funded by the U.S. and German governments, offers an immersive academic year experience through 350 scholarships available to high school students, graduates, and young professionals. Participants enjoy a unique opportunity to live with a German host family while attending a local high school, where they engage in cultural exchanges and language immersion.

The program includes comprehensive components such as pre-departure training, language lessons upon arrival, cultural excursions, and in-country support. Scholarships cover essential costs like round-trip transportation, medical benefits, lodging, meals, and tuition. Designed for motivated youth, CBYX not only facilitates cultural understanding but also creates a network of alumni committed to enhancing U.S.-German relations.

Initiated in 1983, this program has successfully connected over 26,000 participants, fostering global citizenship, independence, and lifelong friendships. Whether experiencing German culture firsthand or participating in discussions with government officials, CBYX empowers youth to become citizen diplomats and broaden their worldviews.
